Welcome to Year 4

Welcome to Year 4. We hope that this will be a year in which your children grow in confidence, develop new skills and foster a love for learning across all areas of the curriculum. We also hope that you find this class page useful - we will try our best to keep it up to date with details about what is going on in class along with other important information to be aware of. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the Year 4 team. Kind regards,

Miss Wassman, Mrs Haden and Mrs Munro

Meet the Teacher Parent Event Slides

We will be holding a meet the teacher evening on Wednesday the 9th September and the slides will be added to the website after the meet.

 Times Tables Check Focus

Times Table Rock Stars (TTRS) is an important way for children to practise their multiplication and division facts regularly and build speed, accuracy and confidence. Secure times-table knowledge also supports many other areas of maths, including fractions, division and problem solving.

In Year 4, children complete the statutory Multiplication Tables Check (MTC), which assesses their recall of multiplication facts up to 12 × 12. Regular TTRS practice helps children become familiar with recalling facts quickly and accurately, so they feel confident and well prepared for the check.
